With the closing of the Mark Twain Cultural Center & Toccata Guttman Music Hall, the North Shore of Lake Tahoe appeared to be in jeopardy of losing a venue in which one of Nevada’s great historical treasures frequently held forth as the Ghost of Mark Twain.

In order to ensure this incredible natural resource was not lost to our community forever, or for even a moment, the Incline Village & Crystal Bay Historical Society has invited McAvoy Layne to use its newly named Mark Twain Room for performances which have the goal of improving historical awareness and that sort of noble public purpose. The Mark Twain Room is located behind our exhibit in the Starbucks building at the corner of Village Boulevard and State Route 28 in the heart of Incline Village. Mr. Twain, er, Layne, has graciously agreed to contribute a significant share of each performance’s proceeds to the IV&CBHS…
